Today I’m sharing a lovely little video of my second daughter, Yuanyuan, during her daily math chant recitation practice. She’s a sweet, well-behaved second-grade primary school girl.
Recently, her school has been focusing on addition and subtraction fluency. The teacher sent home a list of math rhymes that combine rhythm with basic facts. Yuanyuan was a bit nervous at first because some rhymes are long. But she spent several afternoons carefully memorizing them, line by line.
This morning, she asked me to record her. I sat down with my phone, and she took a deep breath. Then she began her math chant recitation practice from start to finish. To my surprise, she didn’t stutter once. Every rhyme came out smoothly, and she even added a little clap between sections.
I’m really proud of how focused and diligent she is with her schoolwork. It’s such a warm, rewarding sight to see my good girl take her studies seriously and make steady progress step by step. We’ve decided to continue this math chant recitation practice every morning for just five minutes. It builds her confidence before school even starts.
I’ve uploaded her recitation video here for everyone to watch. Hoping she keeps up this great learning attitude in the days ahead!
